Nancy Thygesen
Painting and photographing God’s creation since 2005 has been a doorway to my own healing and led to a humbled relationship with my Creator. My abstract landscapes create a ‘rarified atmosphere’ to portray the luminous veil of light that separates heaven and earth, to show hope and encouragement in the midst of darkness. The translucent layers whether encaustic, cold wax and oils or acrylic, tell a deeper story and point to spiritual truth in and beyond us. All are intentioned to reflect the Presence and creativity of God. I hope to inspire through my art the same mystery and wonder towards the invisible in my viewers.” With 25 years of experience in teaching movement and art expression, Nancy has facilitated art therapy with women in addictions recovery, sexual abuse and trauma, and cancer survivors. Her mission in therapy and creating art is to create a safe space for healing mentally, emotionally, spiritually and physically.
